This good practice guide presents lessons learnt from the career-tracking survey of recent PhD graduates from nine European universities, undertaken as part of the DocEnhance project funded by the European Union. The DocEnhance project’s overall aim is to enhance existing PhD programmes by integrating transferable skills and a more career-oriented curriculum into doctoral training and by preparing PhD holders to work in a variety of jobs outside and inside academia.
