Os seres encantados de Straparola, Basile e Cascudo: o maravilhoso nos contos populares italianos e brasileiro

Abstract

O brasileiro Luís da Câmara Cascudo (Natal, Rio Grande do Norte, Brasil, 1898-1986), em nota de rodapé presente ao final do conto “O peixinho encantado”, publicado em sua obra Contos tradicionais do Brasil, faz referência aos contos “Pietropazzo”, do italiano Giovanni Francesco Straparola (Caravaggio-Venezia, Lombardia-Vêneto, Itália, 1480-1557), presente em sua obra Le piacevoli notti (As noites agradáveis) e “Peruonto” de Giambattista Basile (Giuliano-Nápoles, Campania, Itália 1566-1632), presente em sua obra Lo cunto de li cunti o Pentamerone, de forma a demonstrar a relação que a narrativa curta brasileira traça com as duas italianas, abrindo margem para o estudo da manifestação do maravilhoso nos três contos e apresentando aspectos semelhantes que levam a reflexões sobre questões ligadas à transmissão oral e à importância dos contadores de histórias e de sua relação com os escritores em geral, no eixo da cultura popular. Assim estudamos as homologias e divergências entre os três contos, tendo como eixo os percursos narrativos de cada protagonista e os personagens que representam a manifestação da maravilha ou do encantamento e partimos da versão de Straparola, para chegarmos na de Basile, e, por fim, na de Cascudo. Para tanto, servem de base os estudos de Sperber (2009), Volobuef (2011) e Michelli (2020), entre outros estudiosos. Objetivamos refletir a respeito da expressão do maravilhoso no campo da Literatura Comparada, uma vez que comparamos três contos de diferentes épocas e nacionalidades que trazem muitas aproximações e poucos distanciamentos, para refletir sobre o papel dos contadores e dos escritores.
