China (Sichuan, Yunnan), India (Assam, Uttar Pradesh, W. Bengal), Myanmar, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam. Biology. Beeson (1961) describes the biology and figures the gallery system. The species is known to attack at least 12 different families of trees (Beaver & Gebhardt 2006).
