Interactions of cosmic ray protons, atomic nuclei and electrons in the interstellar medium in the inner part of the Milky Way produce a gamma-ray flux from the Galactic Ridge (|l|<30°, |b|<2°). If the gamma-ray emission is dominated by proton and nucleus interactions, a comparable neutrino flux is expected from the same region. Data collected by the ANTARES detector from 2007 to 2020 have been analysed to constrain the neutrino emission from the Galactic Ridge in the TeV energy range. Both track- and shower-like events have been considered and an ON-OFF analysis has been performed to estimate a possible excess of events in the ON region with respect to the expected background originating from atmospheric neutrinos. The results of the fit in terms of the neutrino flux normalisation and spectral index will be presented and compared to the Fermi-LAT measurements in the context of the model of common origin of gamma-rays and neutrinos from proton and nuclei interactions in the inner Galactic Disk.
| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
