Abstract

(English version below) Der „Novellenschatz des Auslandes“ (14 Bände, 1872-1876) wurde von der Digital Humanities Cooperation unter Leitung von Prof. Dr. Thomas Weitin in einem Corrected-OCR-Verfahren im Rahmen des von der VolkswagenStiftung geförderte Projekts Reading at Scale. Mixing Methods in Literary Analysis digitalisiert. Paul Heyse gab den „Novellenschatz des Auslandes“ gemeinsam mit Hermann Kurz heraus. Die Sammlung enthält 57 Novellen von 46 Autor:innen. Enthalten sind Übersetzungen aus dem Französischen, Englischen, Russischen, Dänischen, Italienischen, Spanischen, Ungarischen, Böhmischen, Niederländischen, Norwegischen, Polnischen und Schwedischen. Das bereitgestellte Korpus besteht aus 57 Novellen im txt-Format. Zusätzlich können die Dateien auch gemeinsam mit den Paratexten (ein Vorwort und zwei kurze Einleitungstexte), einer Metadatentabelle sowie den Scans (bereitgestellt durch die Bayrischen Staatsbibliothek München) der Bände als ZIP-Datei heruntergeladen werden. The digitalisation was part of the Reading at Scale. Mixing Methods in Literary Analysis project funded by the VolkswagenStiftung. Paul Heyse published the “Novellenschatz des Auslandes” in collaboration with Hermann Kurz. The collection comprises 57 novellas by 47 authors. They include translations of French, English, Russian, Danish, Italian, Spanish, Hungarian, Bohemian, Dutch, Norwegian, Polish, and Swedish novellas into German. The provided corpus includes the 57 novellas in plain-text format (txt). The files can additionally be downloaded as a ZIP file, including complementary paratextual components (a preface and two short introductory texts), a metadata table as well as the scans of the original volumes (provided by the Bayrischen Staatsbibliothek München).
