The DUNE Photon Detection System (PDS) exploits a novel technology for the detection of VUV scintillation light in Liquid Argon. The system is composed by a light shifter and a photon trapping system (X-ARAPUCA) based on dichroic filters. The trapped light is recorded by a large array of Silicon Photomultipliers (SiPMs) in active ganging configuration, operated at 87K. In this poster, we will present the cryogenic electronics of the X-ARAPUCA, which includes a low noise/ low power consumption amplifier connected to the 48 SiPM array. The analog signal is transmitted towards the warm electronics and is digitized by a dedicated board (DAPHNE). We describe the performance of the system and present a complete end-to-end simulation of the devices, including the low temperature behavior of the DUNE SiPMs and signal transmission. In 2021, the DUNE PDS Consortium carried out the characterization of the system before the installation in ProtoDUNE-SP Run II. We thus summarize the achievement of this measurement campaign and perform a systematic comparison with the simulation.
