ePLANET project is a Coordination and Support Action cofounded by the European Commission through Horizon 2020 program. ePLANET aims to develop and implement a methodology to enhance and facilitate multi-level governance for energy transition in public authorities and the coordinated adoption of Energy Transition Measures for achieving the European sustainability targets. This document presents a desk review of existing governance networks, projects and initiatives, at local and regional level in the pilot territories as well as at national/EU level, aiming to improve multi-level governance coordination and monitoring of Energy Transition (ET) projects by public authorities. The purpose of the review was to identify best practices, barriers and lessons learnt, that could be linked to and contribute to the aims of ePLANET, whereby new figures/structures and tools will be proposed, to improve vertical and horizontal governance for energy transition.
