Interrelations of Slovak and World Historiography (Slovak Historiography in European History)

Authors: Štefan Šutaj et al.;

Interrelations of Slovak and World Historiography (Slovak Historiography in European History)

Abstract

In the present volume, historians of the Department of History, Faculty of Arts at Pavol Jozef Šafárik University in Košice deal with some issues of Slovak and European historiography as well as with the interaction of certain selected historiographies. Six articles describe and assess the historical production in various temporal, spatial and factual contexts. Given the complexity of the topic discussed, the articles should be viewed as brief inquiries into the selected issues of the historiographies in question. By no means did the authors intend to bring exhaustive answers to the raised questions; instead, the goal was to outline the main issues. Three studies discuss the issue of Slovak-Hungarian relations, two focus on Slovak-German relations and one regards the issue of Yugoslav region from the perspective of Slovak, British and American historians.
