India is second largest producer of Bamboo in the world, in spite of this Bamboo has not been acknowledged well as a mainstream construction material in the country. One of many reasons may be the lack of awareness and competence of Architects in using Bamboo technology. Professional competency of architects depends much on curriculum and academic upbringing. This paper attempts to analyse the architecture curriculum to appraise the status of inclusion of Bamboo as a mainstream building construction material in curricula of Architecture Schools across India. Effort is made to quantify the importance of Bamboo in curriculum offered to students.
