This is the "Dynamic Generation of Macro-Vortices in Estuarine Compound Channel" data. Our study domain covered the Pearl River Estuary (PRE). FVCOM was implemented to simulate the estuarine circulation in July 2017. The raw data is in netcdf format with unstructured grids. To better analyze the vortical structure, we interpolated data to structured grids, with 400 meters resolution in the horizontal plane and 1-meter resolution in the vertical direction, using the inverse distance weight method. The data is one hour spaced. Here in this folder, we provided 1) geometry information, x_grid, y_grid, z_grid, which are also corresponded to the data structure below 2) velocity u, v, (w is three or four orders of magnitude smaller than u and v) 3) depth-averaged velocity ua, va, 4) water depth, 5) surface elevation, 6) calculation results of barotropic term and transverse shear stress.

| selected citations These citations are derived from selected sources. This is an alternative to the "Influence" indicator, which also reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | 0 | |
| popularity This indicator reflects the "current" impact/attention (the "hype") of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network. | Average | |
| influence This indicator reflects the overall/total impact of an article in the research community at large, based on the underlying citation network (diachronically). | Average | |
| impulse This indicator reflects the initial momentum of an article directly after its publication, based on the underlying citation network. | Average |
