Copidognathus sp. (affinity to Copidognathus longispinus) Records from India: ANDAMAN & NICOBAR ISLANDS: Chatam Island (reported as Copidognathus longispinus Bartsch & Iliffe), among algae Jania rubens — Chatterjee (1995b). Remarks: This species is a member of Copidognathus gibbus group. Chatterjee (1995b) reported this species as Copidognathus longispinus Bartsch & Iliffe, 1985. But the Fig. 1i of leg IV of Chatterjee (1995b) show a ventral seta on telofemur which differ it from C. longispinus, whether this ventral seta is an artefact or really exists should be checked with newly collected specimens. This species at present kept here as Copidognathus sp. (affinity to Copidognathus longispinus). Further investigation requires collecting specimens from Andaman and Nicobar Islands to know exact nature of this species.
