The recycled carbonate in the mantle source of the Ryukyu subduction zone: evidence from Mg isotopes

Abstract

Sample of 1~7: Name of the Campaign: hydrothermal activity of back-arc basin cruises 4 (R/V KEXUE HAO, 2016); Method of sampling: television grab Elevation: all of samples were obtained from seafloor, and the depths under the sea level of samples from 1 to 7 were 1715m, 1673m, 1060m, 1748m, 2206m, 1337m and 1281m, respectively. Date/Time of event: 2016-06. Sample of 8~10: Name of the Campaign: Investigation of Northern Taiwan Volcanic Zone (2018) Method of sampling: Geologic hammer sampling Elevation: all of samples were obtained from hills, and elevations of samples from 8 to 10 were 312m, 546m and 112m, respectively. Date/Time of event: 2018-02-02. This dataset reports major, trace elements and Sr-Nd isotopic ratios of volcanic rocks from Northern Taiwan Volcanic Zone and Okinawa Trough. The volcanic rocks belong to the subalkaline, tholeiitic and calc-alkaline magma series. Major and trace element compositions of rocks were obtained with X-ray fluorescence spectrometry (XRF) and inductively-coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) at ALS Chemex (Guangzhou) Co Ltd. Sr and Nd isotope ratios of volcanic rocks were measured by a Triton XT TIMS (Thermo Fisher Scientific, Bremen, Germany) at Pilot National Laboratory for Marine Science and Technology (Qingdao). major, trace elements and Sr-Nd isotope compositions of volcanic rocks from Northern Taiwan Volcanic Zone and Okinawa Trough Guo, Kun
