This study focuses on the documentation produced after the war fought between Rome and Viterbo in the summer of 1290 and analyzes, on the one hand, the writing practices of the Roman Senate and the language of its chancellery and, on the other, how the documents are been transmitted and the methods adopted in the thirteenth century by the communal government of Viterbo to preserve them.
Questo studio si concentra sulla documentazione prodotta dopo la guerra combattuta tra Roma e Viterbo nell’estate del 1290 e analizza, da un lato, le pratiche di scrittura del Senato romano e la lingua della sua cancelleria e, dall'altro, come sono stati trasmessi gli atti e i metodi adottati nel XIII secolo dal governo comunale di Viterbo per preservarli.
