The term teacher leadership refers to that set of skills demonstrated by teachers who continue to teach students but who also have influence that extends beyond their own classroom to others within their school and elsewhere” (Danielson, 2006, p. 12). This paper will discuss the emergence of teacher leadership. This paper will compare and contrast at least three different models of teacher leadership and then synthesize them into a hybrid model that would contribute significantly to the creation of a positive and effective school climate.
