This article aims to discuss the studies carried out in the Paulo Freire Discipline and Education in Brazil of the Graduate Program in Education (PPGE) at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). The objective of the course is to study the main Freirian works, focusing on the Brazilian education. Based on this focus, we intend in this work to reflect on the contributions of Freire's work to studies on teacher training in the Brazilian scenario in parallel to the importance of Bakhtinian dialogism in the effectiveness of teaching practice.
