iART - Eine Suchmaschine zur Unterst��tzung von bildorientierten Forschungsprozessen

Abstract

Mit iART wird eine offene Web-Plattform zur Suche in kunst- und kulturwissenschaftlichen Bildinventaren pr��sentiert, die von in den Geistes��wissenschaften etablierten Methoden wie dem Vergleichenden Sehen inspiriert ist. Das System integriert verschiedene maschinelle Lerntechniken f��r das schlagwort- und inhaltsgesteuerte Retrieval sowie die Kategorienbildung ��ber Clustering. Mithilfe eines multimodalen Deep-Learning-Ansatzes ist es zudem m��glich, text- und bildbasiert nach Konzepten zu suchen, die von trainierten Klassifikationsmodellen zuvor nicht erkannt wurden. Unterst��tzt von einer intuitiven Benutzeroberfl��che, die die Untersuchung der Ergebnisse durch modifizierbare Objektansichten erlaubt, k��nnen Nutzer:innen circa eine Millionen Objekte aus kunsthistorisch relevanten Bilddatenbanken, etwa des niederl��ndischen Rijksmuseums, explorieren. Ebenso k��nnen eigene Best��nde importiert werden. Ein Beitrag zur 8. Tagung des Verbands "Digital Humanities im deutschsprachigen Raum" - DHd 2022 Kulturen des digitalen Ged��chtnisses.
