Carl Hermann Knoblauch (1820-1895) war ordentlicher Professor für Experimentalphysik an der Universität Halle und befasste sich mit Wärmestrahlung, Kristallphysik und Elektrizität. Knoblauch war er ab 1878 der XV. Präsident der Kaiserlich-Leopoldinisch-Carolinischen deutschen Akademie der Naturforscher, der heutigen Nationalen Akademie der Wissenschaften Leopoldina. Aufgrund seines Wirkens kam die Leopoldina und ihre Bibliothek dauerhaft in die Stadt Halle (Saale). Carl Hermann Knoblauch (1820-1895) was a full professor of experimental physics at the University of Halle and worked on thermal radiation, crystal physics and electricity. Knoblauch was the XV President of the Imperial Leopoldine Carolinian German Academy of Natural Scientists, today's National Academy of Sciences (Leopoldina), from 1878. Due to his work, the Leopoldina and its library came permanently to the city of Halle (Saale).
