Transversotrema sp. D Transversotrematids similar to T. licinum were collected from a single Chaetodon flavirostris from New Caledonia. Analysis of the sequence obtained from the one specimen collected suggest the presence of a species separate from all others but most closely related to the two species from Moreton Bay. We have no morphological specimens of this form and thus are unable to characterize it. We have named another species from nemipterids from New Caledonia, T. nova n. sp., but have no data to suggest that this molecular specimen and the morphological specimen of T. nova n. sp. are the same species, and we have never found the same species from nemipterids and chaetodontids at any location.
