The species is characterized by 4–5 slightly curved megasetae nearly as wide as the apical gonostylus and located at the apical third on the gonostylus, and a few setae on the intercoxal area on the hypopygium. Distribution. China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Henan, Shanxi, Taiwan, Yunnan, Zhejiang – new record; Fig. 11), Germany, Austria, Switzerland, Finland, Poland, Russian Far East, Russia (Central European part) (Winnertz, 1867; Tuomikoski, 1960; Mohrig & Menzel, 1994). Remarks. The typelocality of the species is not clear, Austria or Germany (Winnertz, 1867). The Chinese specimens examined show no distinct differences from the type specimen. However, four specimens from Anji in Zhejiang province have Y with 3–9 setae, y/x: 1.21–1.32, while Y bare, y/x nearly two in other specimens.
