Crassuncus ecstaticus (Meyrick, 1932) comb. nov. (Figs. 38) Pterophorus ecstaticus Meyrick, 1932: 335. (Type locality: Uganda). Crassuncus chappuisi Gibeaux, 1994: 450. (Type locality: Kenya). Syn. nov. Picardia ecstaticus (Meyrick, 1932). (Gielis, 2003, 2011). Material examined: 1 ♂ Juniper Forest, 8.10.2009; Nyika N.P.; 1 ♂ 7.08.2009; 1 ♀ Mugesse Forest, 9.04.2010, 1 ♀ Ntchisi Forest, 3.11.2012, R. Murphy. Distribution: Uganda, Kenya, Malawi. Notes. During a study of the holotype of Pterophorus ecstaticus Meyrick, 1932 it was found that the species in question belongs to the genus Crassuncus. Further comparison of Crassuncus chappuisi Gibeaux, 1994, described from Kenya, with Crassuncus ecstaticus Meyrick, 1932 established their identity as synonyms. New for Malawi.
