Abstract

Cheilosia albitarsis (Meigen) [sensu Doczkal (2000)] Material examined. Leg. A. Ricarte: 1♂ and 1♀, Moreda valley, near Aula Naturaleza, Castanea sativa souto, 720 m, 23.v.2012; 1♂, meadow near Pedra Boa, 788m, 24.v.2012; 1♀, meadow near Moreda valley, 720 m, 23.v.2012. Leg. D. Horsfield: 1♀, Moreda valley, herb-rich meadows, 720 m, 23.v.2012 [NMS]. Leg. E.G. Hancock: 4♂ and 7♀, nr Moreda, meadow by woodland edge, 23-28.v.2012 [HM]. Leg. R.M. Lyszkowski: 1♂, nr. Pedra Boa, 750 m, 24.v.2012; 1♀, S. of Mercurín, 600 m, 27.v.2012 [RL]. Leg. S.M. Hewitt: 1♂, Devesa da Rogueira, 20.v.2012; 2♂ and 2♀, Moreda valley meadows, 25.v.2012 (1♂), 21.v.2012 (1♂ and 2♀) [CALMG]. Taxonomic notes. Females of C. albitarsis and Cheilosia ranunculi Doczkal, 2000 cannot be morphologically separated. All the males studied here were identified as C. albitarsis and females were consequently regarded as being conspecific.
