Percophidae Bembrops caudimacula Steindachner, 1876 —Tailspot duckbill STATUS AT MADANG. New record from Madang, based on a specimen collected by W.-J. Chen, St. CP 3949. NTUM material (NTUM 10055, 10063, 10091). DISTRIBUTION AND HABITAT. Red Sea and Gulf of Aden east to eastern Indonesia and New Guinea, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found on soft bottoms of the continental slope, 186– 500 m. Marine.
