Idoteidae Samouelle 1819

Idoteidae Samouelle 1819

Abstract

Idoteidae Samouelle, 1819 Remarks. The Idoteidae comprise 22 genera (Poore 2001; Schotte et al. 2008 onwards) but no complete synthesis has been attempted. Brusca (1984) discussed possible phylogenies of a more broadly defined Idoteidae but many of these ideas are superseded. Poore & Lew Ton (1993) dealt with nine genera from Australia and New Zealand and Poore (2001) diagnosed the family as part of a revision of Valvifera generally. Idotea festiva does not conform with any genus already diagnosed.

Published as part of Poore, Gary C. B. & Hurley, Desmond E., 2015, Takereana, a new genus of Idoteidae (Crustacea: Isopoda: Valvifera) from New Zealand, pp. 590-594 in Zootaxa 4057 (4) on page 590, DOI: 10.11646/zootaxa.4057.4.10, http://zenodo.org/record/232042
