C. conocephalus is one of the most widespread species of the genus, being present in a wide area of South Europe and North and East Africa (a synonym is called aethiopica Thunberg 1789). Habitat. In Ethiopia we collected the specimens in moist to very wet grass and herb vegetation (Figure 2 d, 4a).
