This species is diagnostic in the male genitalia by the gnathos having a setose sub-rounded median process (Fig. 22), in the female genitalia by the paired elongate ovate signa with smaller one no more than 1/2 the length of the larger one (Fig. 28). Termioptycha eucarta is similar to T. longiclavata sp. nov. in both forewing pattern and male genitalia, and the differences between the two species are given under the former species. Distribution. China (Guangdong, Guangxi, Henan, Jiangxi, Jilin, Liaoning, Shaanxi, Shanxi, Sichuan, Taiwan, Zhejiang); Japan, Indonesia, Australia, Papua New Guinea. Notes. This species is newly recorded in China. Remarks. Ethnistis is the synonym of the genus Bonchis Walker, 1862, belonging to the subfamily Chrysauginae. Solis (1992) transferred Ethnistis eucarta Felder & Rogenhofer, 1875 to Termioptycha, which has a characteristic apical spine of the costa as in other species of the genus in the male genitalia.
