Ocypus (Pseudocypus) inexspectatus Eppelsheim, 1887 (Figs. 16-1, 16-2) Eppelsheim, 1887: 422 (Ocypus; Type locality: Wladiwostok); Bernhauer & Schubert, 1914: 387 (Staphylinus; subgenus Ocypus; cited as inexpectatus; catalog); Scheerpeltz, 1933: 1395 (Staphylinus; cited as inexpectatus; catalog); J. Müller, 1943: 105 (Staphylinus; cited as inexpectatus; chracters; Siberia); Coiffait, 1974: 505 (Pseudocypus; cited as inexpectatus; characters; Siberia); Smetana & Davies, 2000: 44 (Ocypus; subgenus Pseudocypus); Herman, 2001: 3405 (Ocypus; subgenus Pseudocypus; Catalog); Smetana, 2004: 677 (Ocypus; subgenus Pseudocypus; Catalog of Palaearctic Region); Smetana, 2009b: 11 (Ocypus; subgenus Pseudocypus; redescription); Schülke & Smetana, 2015: 1092 (Ocypus; subgenus Pseudocypus; Catalog of Palaearctic Region). Material examined. CHINA: Jilin Province: 3 males, 9 females, Changbai Shan, 740 m, pitfall traps, 7.VII.1993, coll. Peiyu Yu (IZ-CAS); 3 males, 3 females, Baihe County, ecology station, 760 m, mixed coniferous and broadleaved forest; pitfall traps, 5.VI.2004, coll. Jie Wu (IZ-CAS); Measurements. Body length: 13.5–16.8 mm. CL: 0.64; EL: 2.38; ELS: 1.05; EW: 2.83; HL: 2.58; HW: 2.35; PO: 0.79; PL: 2.78; PW: 2.81. Distribution. Before this study Ocypus inexspectatus was recorded only from the Russian Far East. This is the first time that this species is recorded from northeastern China (in Jilin Province).
