Abstract

Family Muridae Recent treatments of Order Rodentia made radical changes in the systematic of this order. By now three main subfamilies are known to occur in Jordan (Gerbillinae, Murinae and Deomyinae). This family includes rats, jirds and gerbils. This family includes generalized species that assume different life styles. It includes rats, mice and other forest inhabitants. Many species are considered serious pests of economic and health importance (Wilson & Reeder, 2005).
