Abstract

Branchinectidae Daday, 1910 (sensu Rogers & Coronel, 2011) Branchinecta Verrill, 1869 (sensu Rogers & Coronel, 2011) Branchinecta achalensis César, 1985 (sensu Cohen, 1987, 2012) = Branchinecta uruguayensis Rogers & Racz Lorenz, 2015 Branchinecta achalensis was so far recorded only from Argentina: In Córdoba province: La Posta, Pampa de Achala (type locality); ponds on the bank along the Altas Cumbres Route; National Park Quebrada del Condorito, Sierras Grandes de Córdoba; Los Gigantes. In Buenos Aires province: Pila; Rauch; Chascomús; Bañado de Flores (extinct biotope in Buenos Aires City) (César, 1985; Cohen: 1987, 2012). Therefore, the population described from Barra de Valizas in Uruguay represents a new record for B. achalensis.
