Holotype (Fig. 31): ICN-MHN 19162 [ex CAR 670] (64.6 mm SL), Colombia, Nariño, Barbacoas, Peje River, tributary of Ñambí, tributary of River Telembí; J. I. Mojica, 8 Dec 2004. Paratypes: ICN-MHN 17469 (11, 26.1–58.3 mm. SL), collected with the holotype. Remarks: Ardila-Rodríguez (2015) incorrectly assigned 2004 as the date of collection (instead of 2009), and the number of paratypes (11) from the lot ICN-MHN 17469 was not clearly specified at the original description.
