Abstract

Orthocentrus brevipilus Broad, 2014 (Fig. 23) Orthocentrus brevipilus Broad in Veijalainen et al., 2014: 231–233 [holotype female (BMNH), ‘ Guatemala, Zacapa, 2km SE La Unión, 1555± 21m 14.94661°N, 89.27612°W [secondary] cloud forest, 12–15.v.2009, Malaise LLAMA#Ma-B- 03-1-02 ’]. https://species-id.net/wiki/ Orthocentrus _brevipilus Material examined. 2 ♂, México, Morelos, Cuernavaca, botanical garden of the Morelos University, 2.III.2010, leg. A. E. Humala (UAT, ZISP). Distribution. Guatemala, Costa Rica, Nicaragua; Mexico (Morelos). The species is new to Mexico. Comments. Compared with the other species that have long antennae, closed areolet in fore wing, second tergite anteriorly with paired median longitudinal carinae, and dark brown metapleuron, the eyes with very short setae and mesoscutum lacking white “shoulder-stripes” emanating from the antero-lateral edges of the mesoscutum, unlike in O. ruizi.
