Pseudoboletia maculata Troschel, 1869 Material studied. WUSL/ER/271 (dry, with spines) from Polhena. Literature records for Sri Lanka. Herdman et al. (1904), Clark (1915), Fernando (2006), Jayakody (2012). Distribution in Sri Lanka. Northern and southern coasts of Sri Lanka. Recorded depth range in Sri Lanka. 13 m (previous records). Habitat. Not recorded. Observed occurrence in this study. None. Remarks. P. maculata differs from P. indiana because the former has dark spots on the test, but the latter is uniform in colour and lacks spots. One denuded specimen is housed at the DAF (Polhena, 1–5 m).
