Abstract

Fasciolaria coronata Lamarck, 1822 (Figure 2) 1822 Fasciolaria coronata Lamarck: 120, sp. no. 6 1830 Fasciolaria coronata (Lamarck) Deshayes: 126 1840b Kiener: 9, pl. 9, fig. 1 Type locality: les mers de la Nouvelle - Hollande, près des Iles King et des Kanguroos. Material in MHNG, Lamarck collection: 4 possible syntypes MHNG INVE 51701 (ex MHNG 1098/3) (figured herein, Fig. 2A – D); 1098/3/1: 82 x 40.5 mm; 1098/3/2: 88 x 40 mm (? Kiener, pl. 9, fig. 1); 1098/3/3: 68 x 31 mm; 1098/3/4: 54.5 x 27 mm. Locality on the label: Australie. Current taxonomic position: Pleuroploca australasia (Perry, 1811); placed in synonymy with Pleuroploca australasia by Wilson (1994): 74. Locality is southeastern Australia.
