Hedysarum barbatum Linnaeus, Systema Naturae, ed. 10, 2: 1170. 1759. ["Habitat in Jamaica."] Sp. Pl., ed. 2, 2: 1055 (1763). RCN: 5527. Lectotype (Schubert in Milne-Redhead & Polhill, Fl. Trop. E. Africa, Leguminosae 3: 477. 1971): Herb. Linn. No. 921.48 (LINN). Current name: Desmodium barbatum (L.) Benth. (Fabaceae: Faboideae).
