���Sylwan��� published since 1820 is the oldest in Poland forest scientific journal, one of the first in the world. It was established as �� journal of the Royal Corps of Forestry and was initiated b�� the director of government forests Ludwik Plater-Broel. Currently, the publisher is the Polish Forest Society, bringing together mainly foresters, naturalists, scientists, lovers of forests and forestry. The Society has more than 5,000 members. Within the 196 years, ,,Sylwan" shaped the development of the Polish forestry, disseminated knowledge and forest science, contributed to the protection of Polish nature. Now, in scientific articles journal reports the results of researches and the problems troubling the forestry in the country and abroad. The authors of the papers are primarily representatives of universities and research institutes related to forestry. ,,Sylwan" is �� monthly magazine, is published in 1,200 copies, it has �� website. Papers are publish in the Polish language with English summary, descriptions of tables and figures. lmpact Factor (IF) for 2017 is 0.410. According to the list of scientific journals of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education it has 15 points and is indexed b�� numerous scientific basis.
