Abstract

Í verkefninu var fengist við að draga saman gögn um efnainnihald matvæla frá íslenskum landbúnaði og varpa með því ljósi á sérstöðu og mikilvægi innlendu framleiðslunnar. Með efnainnihaldi er átt við næringarefni, aðskotaefni og andoxunarefni. Markmiðið með verkefninu var að gera þekkingu á sérstöðu matvæla frá íslenskum landbúnaði aðgengilega varðandi efnainnihald. Ávinningurinn er sá að hægt verður að styrkja ímynd innlends landbúnaðar út frá sérstöðu matvælaframleiðslunnar. Markaðs- og kynningarstarf mun nýta niðurstöðurnar. Innlenda fram-leiðslan styrkist á markaði gagnvart neytendum. _____ Data on chemical composition of Icelandic foods from agriculture were collected to evaluate the special position and importance of the domestic production. Nutrients, antioxidants and contaminants in foods were covered. The purpose was the make knowledge on the special position of domestic agricultural foods available. It was expected that the image of Icelandic agriculture would be improved based on the special position of domestic foods. The information is useful as a marketing tool and will be regarded as positive by consumers.
