Abstract

Grammar. This manuscript is now IO Bijapur 21 in the India Office collections. Size 9 in. by 5 in.; foll. 238. From twenty-one to twenty-four lines in a page. Glosses on Jâmî's Commentary, by Ibrâhîm b. Muḥammad b. ‘Arabshâh ISFARÂ’INÎ ‘IṢÂM AL-DÎN (d. A.H. 943 [=1538-39 CE]). Cf. Ḥ. Kh. v. 10; Cat. St. Petersb. 159; Flügel, Hdss, i. 168. The first gloss begins: قوله الحمد هو الوصف بالجميل الخ The book concludes with a short prayer. Plainly written. Revised throughout. Illegible words of the text are made clear on the margin under the heading تنوير . Some additional notes by the author, and extracts from his own commentary on the Kâfiyah, are also on the margin.
