DEMOSCENE NO BRASIL: UM MAPEAMENTO QUASISISTEMTICO DA LITERATURA

Abstract

This research investigates the Brazilian demoscene community and answers questions about the level of activity in Brazil, production of demos, staging of events, number of practitioners and other aspects of the local scene, in addition to providing data on the volume of research in Brazil in this scenery. The study is conducted through a literature review, including academic literature and gray literature on demoscene in Brazil or published in Brazil in Portuguese, the literature search was performed in academic portals such as Capes Periodicals, Google Scholar, ACM Digital Library, among others and also in web search portals such as Google Search, Yahoo Search and DuckDuckGo Search, data collection was carried out in November 2019 and found a total of 117 results, the analysis of data extracted from the literature shows that despite the existence of Brazilian participation in production of demos and holding events, especially in the 1990s, and later in 2012 and 2017, the activity in Brazil is quite erratic and unstable, with moments of production followed by huge spaces of total inactivity, indicating an almost non-existence of local community , the study presents numbers, names and references for all Brazilian production, and finally concludes that there is no research about demoscene in Brazil, making this study an unprecedented initiative on the theme..
