ATLAS Work Package 3 includes tests of the technologies based on environmental DNA and Next Generation Sequencing to i) perform inventories of communities based on habitat (water and/or sediment ) samples and ii) detect specific species as signature of the presence of resources (fisheries) or ecosystems (VMEs) in environmental samples (water). During the first year of ATLAS, we inventoried and gathered samples on which we kicked off the development of protocols to perform those tests. We will provide a very brief overview of the stage of advancement and the progresses expected for the second year.
