Cyptocephala alvarengai Rolston, 1986 (Fig. 3G) Distribution: Brazil (CE, PE, BA, GO, MG) (Rolston 1986; Barrigossi et al. 2017). Examined material: 26.IX.2017 (1 ♂), 30.X.2017 (1 ♂), Comments. Cyptocephala alvarengai shows distribution restricted to dry habitats in northern and central South America and is not sympatric with other congeneric species. Rolston (1986) described the species based on several male and female specimens and deposited the holotype in the Museu Nacional (UFRJ). Recently, Barrigossi et al. (2017) recorded C. alvarengai complete life cycle in rice (Oryza sativa L., Poaceae).
