Helops glabriventris subsp. glabriventris Reitter 1885

Abstract

Helops glabriventris glabriventris Reitter, 1885 Material. 1♀ (ZDEU): Turkey, Mersin Prov., near Lenger, 36°15ʹ14.35ʺN / 33°10ʹ4.58ʺ E, 1173 m, 28.03.2021 (leg. B. Keskin, M. & S. Nabozhenko); 3♂, 4♀ (ZDEU): Turkey, Antalya Prov., Akseki Distr., Ibradı, 37°03ʹ6.70ʺN / 31°40ʹ59.79ʺE, 881 m, 25.03.2021 (leg. B. Keskin, M. & S. Nabozhenko). Distribution and bionomics. The subspecies H. glabriventris jelineki was described from Crete (Picka 1984). The nominotypical subspecies is widespread in Western Anatolia in İzmir, Muğla, Isparta, Konya, Antalya, and Mersin provinces (Nabozhenko & Keskin 2017), and also in Cyprus (Nabozhenko et al. 2020a). It inhabits coniferous forests of Pinus nigra, Cedrus libani libani, Juniperus excelsa, Abies cilicica in Anatolia and Pinus brutia, Pinus nigra, and Cedrus libani brevifolia Hook F. in Cyprus. We collected this subspecies additionally on Pinus brutia trunks and registered two host lichens (both from the family Parmeliaceae) in Ibradı: Pseudevernia furfuraceae and Parmelina pastillifera.
