New record, based on a video of a specimen taken on north coast of Manne Island, Kavieng District at 1–11 m depth, St. KR36, in 2014 (identified by Barry C. Russell). Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2.—General distribution: Indonesia east to Philippines and Solomon Islands, south to northern Australia. Found in lagoons and sheltered coastal reefs, 1–12 m depth. Marine.
