Russell during 7–28 June 2014; a specimen observed at Nemto Island, New Hanover, 1–50 m depth, St. T 23, on 7 Nov. 2006, by Gerald R. Allen. Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2.—General distribution: East Africa east to Panama, north to Ryukyu and Ogasawara islands, south to northern Australia and Lord Howe Island. Solitary or in pairs, in seaward coral reefs, 1–36 m depth. Marine.
