Arapçada Farklı Görev ve Anlamlarda Kullanılan Bazı Edatlar

Abstract

In Arabic, words are categorized as nouns, verbs and letters according to the classical classification. While nouns and verbs have meaning themselves, letters have no meaning on their own. Letters can only have meanings when they are used together with a noun or verb. In Arabic, it is seen that a word is sometimes accepted as a noun and sometimes as a letter according to the place and meaning in which it is used. Whether it is a noun or a letter, it can be said that in Arabic, prepositions have a very important function in the sentence. Especially in compound sentences, it is often seen that the prepositions are used in connecting the subordinate clause to the main clause. Without the prepositions, there is a considerable amount of situations in which a meaningful sentence cannot be formed. Knowing that the prepositions are used in different tasks such as nouns and verbs, as well as in different meanings, has a great importance in establishing a meaningful structure and giving the sentence a correct meaning. Undoubtedly, there are many prepositions used in different tasks and meanings in Arabic. In this study, " مَا، لَا، ل، مَنْ، حَتَّی، وَ، نَحْوَ، عِنْدَ، لَدَی، كَمْ " prepositions, which are the most common prepositions used in different tasks and meanings in Arabic, are discussed.
