Halobatopsis platensis

Abstract

Halobatopsis platensis (Berg, 1879) Geographical distribution: Brazil, Argentina, and Uruguay. Nieser and Melo (1997) mentioned the occurrence of this species from Paraguay. Because the original record from Paraguay was not found on the literature, and those authors did not mention examining material from the country, the citation can be mistaken. Distribution in Brazil: Central-West, Southeast, and South regions (MT, MG, DF, RJ, RS) (Drake & Harris 1938, 1941; Nieser 1970c; Jurberg & Gomes 1983; Nieser & Melo 1997, 1999; Pelli et al. 2006; Souza et al. 2006; Ribeiro et al. 2010).
