(46) Moina dubia Guerne & Richard, 1892 Indian records. Assam — Biswas (1980); Bihar — Brehm (1950), Bilgrami (1991a), Singh (2008); Jharkhand — Mukherjee et al. (2010); Karnataka — Brehm (1953), Patil & Gouder (1988), Madhya Pradesh — Mahor (2011); Maharashtra — Rane (2005b, 2006); Rajasthan — Biswas (1971), Paulose & Maheswari (2008); Tamil Nadu — Brehm (1936), Sahoo & Jameson (2006); West Bengal — Swell (1935); General record— Raghunathan & Suresh Kumar (2003); South India — Brehm (1953). Remarks. Valid species described from Senegal (Guerne & Richard 1892; Kotov & Ferrari 2010). Michael & Sharma B.K. (1988) concluded that the Indian record of Moina dubia belongs to Moina micrura, but we agree with Smirnov (1976) on a special status of the former. We think that M. dubia could actually be regarded as a valid species, not a subspecies of M. micrura, as it was suggested by Smirnov (1976). Distribution. Africa and Asia. Moina easu Brehm, 1936 Type locality. "Ponds. Pykara Road near Ootacamund", Tamil Nadu, India (Brehm 1936). Indian records. Tamil Nadu — Brehm (1936). Remarks. M. easu is a junior synonym of M. macrocopa according to Goulden (1968), Floessner (1972) and Smirnov (1976). Indeed, no significant differences from the latter were reported by Brehm (1936). It would be best to check the status of the macrocopa -like populations from southern India by examination of original material. Moina flagellata Hudendorff, 1876 Indian records. Assam — Kalita et al. (2011); Punjab — Battish & Kumari (1986); General record— Fernando & Kanduru (1984). Remarks. Junior synonym of M. macrocopa (Smirnov 1976). Moina ganapatii Brehm, 1963 Type locality. “ Type locality: "Flusse Yamuna bei Delhi ", National Capital (Brehm, 1963). Indian records. Delhi — Brehm (1963). Remarks. Junior synonym of Moina macrocopa (Goulden 1968; Smirnov 1976). Moina hutchinsoni Brehm, 1937 Indian record: Rajasthan —Sharma V. et al. (2012). Remarks. M. hutchinsoni was described from Nevada, U.S.A. (Brehm 1937). It is an endemic of North America (Martínez-Jerónimo et al. 2004). Its presence in India is very dubious.
