Abstract

Rypticus saponaceus (Bloch and Schnneider, 1801) Reference material. Winneba (Irvine 171)— BMNH 1934.10.12.9 (one: 161 mm SL); Prampram, July 1938 (Irvine 278); (Irvine 51)— BMNH 1930.8.30.2 (one: 177 mm SL). Distribution. Both sides of the tropical Atlantic and on the tropical central Atlantic islands. Occurs from Senegal to the Congo and in the Cape Verde Islands in the eastern Atlantic (Quéro et al., 1990).
