Abstract

Rhysida longipes (Newport, 1845) Type locality. Unknown. Exemplars examined. Campeche: Ciudad del Carmen, 5/IV/1999, 1 ex., (new state record). Michoacán: 15 km from Villa Madero, 12/X/1999, coll. E. González, 1 ex., (new state record). Geographical distribution (indigenous and introduced occurrences): Central (without specific country) and South America (Brazil, Peru, Venezuela), China, Chagos Archipelago, Haiti, India, Madagascar, Maldives, Mauricio and Rodriguez Islands, México, Occidental Africa, Puerto Rico, Saint Kitts and Nevis, Seychelles Archipelago, Somalia, Taiwan, Tanzania, USA, U.S. Virgin Islands, and Yemen (Koch 1985; Lewis and Wranik 1990; González-Sponga 2002; Lewis 2002a; 2002b; Schileyko 2002; Shelley 2002; Chao and Chang 2003; Shelley and Edwards 2004; Minelli 2006; Lewis and Cole 2007). Distribution in México. Campeche, Chiapas, Gulf of California Islands (Isabel Island), Guerrero, Jalisco, Michoacán, and Sinaloa (Cupul-Magaña and Bueno-Villegas 2007).
