Abstract

Zygaena purpuralis (Brünnich, 1763) Sphinx purpuralis Brünnich, 1763: 686. FIRST RECORD FOR THE VALDIERI AREA. — Turati & Verity (1912). CHOROTYPE. — Centralasiatic-European. ECOLOGY. — Natural and semi-natural open herbaceous areas. Altitudinal generalist, from coastal region to alpine meadows (0-2000 m); very common (Naumann et al. 1999). Known lhp are Thymus vulgaris, T. serpyllum, Satureja.
