This introductory lecture on what Citizen Science is, its benefits and challenges of engaging with it, was organized within the framework of the Integrating Open and Citizen Science into Active Learning Approaches in higher Education (INOS). Examples of projects from libraries and universities contextualised Citizen Science by showing real research projects.
