The learning objective of the session is to equip trainers with the foundations of pedagogy and learning design in delivering training. The presentation slides cover a range of pedagogical aspects and the key elements of learning design. the trainer should plan at least 20 minutes for the presentation. The learning objective of the exercise is to help trainers understand the basics of developing a training course or a learning session whether face-to-face or online and practise designing it. The assignment consists of an overview of 6 learning types and learning activities adapted from the ABC model. A trainer should plan at least 40 minutes for the exercise. The session is adapted from the train the trainer programme for online learning from the EOSC Synergy project. This material is part of the FAIRsFAIR, EOSC-Pillar, EOSC-Synergy and Ghent University Instructor Training Workshop (7, 9 and 11 June 2021). The workshop is part of the FAIRsFAIR Initiative. The project addresses the development and concrete realisation of an overall knowledge infrastructure on academic quality data management, procedures, standards, metrics and related matters based on the FAIR principles.
